Currywurst with a bottle of beer

Konnopke’s Imbiss, yum the Currywurst!

During our trip to Berlin, we ate Currywurst (Fried pork sausage with curry ketchup) at least once a day. This restaurant, Konnopke’s Imbiss, is said to be one of the most authentic and original restaurants in Berlin that mainly serves Currywurst. Konnopke’s Imbiss website: http://www.konnopke-imbiss.de It’s really easy to find this place because it’s located right outside the exit from Berlin subway station, U2 Eberswalder … Continue reading Konnopke’s Imbiss, yum the Currywurst!

Entrance

DDR Museum (East Germany Museum)

English Homepage of DDR Museum: http://www.ddr-museum.de/en DDR Museum, or East Germany Museum is very easy to find, because it stands opposite the Berlin Cathedral, in between flows the river. They even have an automobile which was given … Continue reading DDR Museum (East Germany Museum)

Tempelhofer Feld

Tempelhofer Feld Homepage: https://tempelhofer-feld.berlin.de I decided to visit here because of the recommendation from an article in Süddeutsche Zeitung. It is a very special place, a well-kept ruin of an old airport. Now it is an open public park. People can grill barbecues, ride bikes, rollerskates, or just walk around. I could totally be relaxed here, because there were nothing here but an open ground. … Continue reading Tempelhofer Feld

Dome and Berlin

Magnificent View! Berlin Cathedral

I think Berlin is much prettier during the day. It’s totally different from Asian cities I’ve visited, such as Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo and Seoul. These cities glitter during the night. I think it’s probably because of the street lights and neon lights. Berlin doesn’t have as much neon lights as these cities. One can’t really see what’s out there in the night. I am speaking … Continue reading Magnificent View! Berlin Cathedral

Visit to Bundestag

As I learned about German legislative system in my German course, I became fascinated about German politics. So I planned this visit few weeks ahead my trip to Berlin. I was surprised to learn most of the visit was already full. I was lucky to find an empty place in the “Talk and visit to the Glass dome.” To book your visit to Bundestag>> https://visite.bundestag.de/BAPWeb/pages/createBookingRequest.jsf?lang=enContinue reading Visit to Bundestag

Berlin River Cruise (Reederei Riedel)

This was my favorite of the whole Berlin tour! Cruise along the river. There are two prominent cruise ship companies (and more, please look up http://www.berlin.de for more information.) in Berlin. Kreis und Stern Webpage: Kreis und Stern(English) Reederei Riedel Webpage: Reederei Riedel(English) I boarded on a ship from Reederei Riedel because their dock at Märkisches Ufer was a close walk from Märkisches Museum. Weekly Market at Kollwitzplatz (Wochenmarkt Kollwitzplatz)

We went to the market after visiting Berlin Wall Memorial. The distance between two places are a short ride of tram and a 5 minutes’ walk. The streets to the market from the tram stop Husemann Straße is very pretty and there are loads of trendy shops on the nearby Knackstraße. It would be a nice place to stop by. The market is open 9:00-16:00 … Continue reading Weekly Market at Kollwitzplatz (Wochenmarkt Kollwitzplatz)
